You can also find plenty of high quality restaurants nearby covering all sorts to different kinds of food. For basic supplies for cooking and general household appliances there are two large supermarkets within a reasonable distance of the apartment. Using the metro station at Xujiahui it is possible to reach much of the inner city area relatively quickly and even to get to Pudong.
